Development & Specialist Services

create Their Future

Meet Our Experts

, The GUILD

Whitney Goodrich Smith

Development Psychology Consultant

Whitney Goodrich Smith has a PhD in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, specializing in child development and language acquisition. She has worked with children and parents in the United States, the United Kingdom and Singapore. Whitney is passionate about bringing academic psychology research into practice and helping all children to reach their full potential.

Speech and Language Therapist

The speech pathologist works alongside teachers, assistants, other therapists and families to develop the students’ understanding and use of language in all daily activities.

Occupational Therapist

The college uses the services of an occupational therapist to enable students to participate in the activities of everyday life as independently as possible. This may be through improving the child’s skills or it may be through improving the environment in which the child is expected to function. e.g. Prescribing special toilet seats or handrails.

Clinical Psychologist

The clinical psychologist at The GUILD works closely with teachers, teaching assistants, therapists, and families to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students. Their role involves identifying individual learning needs, offering strategies to enhance learning experience, and addressing emotional, behavioural, or social challenges that may impact a student’s experience at school.
