In response to the conflict between Russia & Ukraine

By Ronald Stones OBE

, The GUILD

While we have had plenty to focus on managing our lives with regard to the Covid-19 threat over the past two years, as an international school, we are shocked to the core by the news of conflict coming out of the current breakdown in relationship between Ukraine and Russia. Even though we believe that we do not currently have any families of Ukrainian or Russian origin enrolled at The GUILD, we are disturbed and affected by the threat of escalation that could infect and spread across the globe.

Whilst it is clear that much of the world is currently united in solidarity and support of Ukraine and its people, it is at times like these that we must remember that we come together as an international community, and The Guild’s mission of creating diversity and inclusion is one in which we promote attitudes of tolerance, understanding and open-mindedness so that a good society can be created and sustained.

We hope that creative solutions can be found so that we can give our support to resolve this conflict, ensuring that we work towards maintaining a more peaceful world in our words and in our actions.
